Emerging London-based contemporary womenswear designer Steve O Smith founded his eponymous brand in 2017 after graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design. With a focus on tailoring and craftsmanship, Steve O Smith draws inspiration from historical references within his conceptual development in order to make collections that examine contemporary issues in a tongue in cheek manner. Steve O Smith's design signature fuses beautiful feminine fabrics in candy hues and monochromes, with sharp and unexpected cuts. Consistent features are glamorous hourglass shapes in fun prints, asymmetric shirting in luxury fabrics and mock-python leathers in classic silhouettes.
In this way, Steve reworks tailoring for the millennial consumer - the consumer who recognises his assortment of references from trash TV via Heidi Montag to classic Hollywood cinema via ‘Gentleman Prefer Blondes'. Steve O Smith has been highlighted by LOVE Magazine, T Magazine (New York Times), King Kong, Metal, and Hunger. Celebrities such as Rina Sawayama, Anne Marie, Blood Orange (Dev Hynes), and Jorja Smith have worn Steve O Smith for performances, appearances, and editorial shoots.
